Salesforce Park

The Salesforce Transit Center became the replacement for the old Transbay terminal in August of 2018. If you've ever been to New York, you might find the Transit Center similar to the Highline in Chelsea. I visited the Salesforce Park in early September of 2018 to see how it compares to the Highline.

Location:

The Transit Center is located at 425 Mission St between Second and Beale in San Francisco. If you take the escalator all the way up, you will reach the Park.

Summary:

In conclusion, the Salesforce Transit Center is an excellent spot for great views of downtown San Francisco. In contrast to the Highline in New York, the Park is smaller in terms of scale. Because of some structural issues, the Transit Center is temporarily closed at this time. However, once it reopens I expect the Salesforce Park to become a popular spot.

The Reason Why I'm Starting a Podcast

Personally, I never would have imagined starting a Podcast myself. But the beauty of the technology age that we are living in today means a lot more opportunity to do more creative things. Below I am going to discuss the reason why I'm starting a podcast and why it might be great for your business as well.

Hardware

The Reason Why I'm Starting a Podcast

For starting the Podcast I choose to invest into the Blue Yeti microphone. Initially I was using my cell phone as a microphone but the quality to me just wasn't good.

Learn New Skills

One reason I started blogging was to become better at writing. Similar to blogging, I think starting a podcast can help in developing communication skills. I think there is also an opportunity to meet and interview other creatives and small businesses in the community.

More Ways to Consume Content

Since I started creating content I have found that people consume content in different ways. I tend to enjoy reading something that interests me whereas others may enjoy watching or listening to that same piece of content.

Podcast Platforms

While developing a Podcast, I have begun to learn about the mediums in which these are hosted. Almost similar to how hosting services for websites, there are dedicated hosting plaftforms for Podcasts. Below are a few podcast hosts that I have come across:

• Pippa

• PodBean

• Shout Engine

Recording Software

Anchor.fm appears to be one of the best out of the box and simple recording software for Podcasts. However, I have heard great things about the following platforms used for recording audio:

• Audacity

• Garage Band

Going forward, I see starting a podcast as a prelude to other mediums such as vlogging or public speaking. Right now, I have begun to convert many of my old blog posts into Podcast versions. That list is still valid but as I have been branching into real estate photography, I thought I would post a few holiday gift ideas for real estate photographers. The following are a few ideas for the Real Estate Photographer in your life.

External Flash:

Some cameras already come with a flash included inside the camera. However, this flash is somewhat limited as it can only point in one direction. As some external flashes are tied to certain manufacturers, below are a few ideas of which to buy for the specific camera brand.

• Canon: Canon Speedlite 430EX II
• Nikon: Nikon Speedlight SB-700
• Sony: EACHSHOT Godox TT350S 2.4G HSS

Filters

Buying a filter as a gift item for a photographer may be one of the difficult items on this list. They are a great idea to get but require knowledge of the exact lenses the photographer is using. For instance, I normally use a Sony FE 16-35mm f4 lens for real estate photography which requires a 72mm filter. Some popular filter brands that I have used in the past are:

• Hoya
• Tiffen

As far as what type of filter to get, circular polarizers are great to get for photography. If you're doing videography neutral density filters are great also. Any filter that you do decide to get is a safe bet as protecting your lenses are always a great investment.

Portable Hard Drive:

Having a portable hard drive makes an excellent gift for any photographer, especially if they work in the field a lot. I've written previously about the importance of having a backup plan for your photo shoots. Below are a few options for portable hard drives:

• LaCie DJI Copilot
• LaCie Rugged Mini
• WD 2TB My Passport Ultra Portable External Hard Drive

These are all rugged hard drives that are great in that they can withstand daily transport and possibly being accidentally dropped.

In conclusion, these are just a few gift ideas for the real estate photographer in your life. There are other things that can be added to this list such as additional batteries, camera cleaning supplies, and memory cards. The great thing about gifts for photographers is that they always need extra or replacement items in their bag. In conclusion, I would totally recommend staying at the best western inn at Pacific Grove. It's a great spot to stay if you're looking for a getaway around the Monterey area.
