My Visit to Bryce Canyon

December 12, 2018

I previously wrote about taking a trip through the central west of America this summer. Along with visiting Zion another spot that I visited was Bryce Canon in Utah. Below is a recap of my visit to Bryce Canyon.

Viewpoints:

Bryce Canyon is an enormous National Park. There are shuttles that can take you throughout the points of entries in the park. You could also choose to drive along the roads of Bryce. Among some of the viewpoints you should view are:

  • Bryce Point
  • Inspiration Point
  • Sunset Point
  • Sunrise Point

Summary: My Visit to Bryce Canyon

After visiting Bryce Canon I can see why it is among one of the most Instagrammed national parks in the country. I only visited Zion and Bryce Canon on my trip through the central west. Arches National Park remains on my list of Utah parks left to see. I hope to visit that park in the next year.

Visiting Zion National Park

December 10, 2018

This past summer I decided to explore several National Parks in the central west. My goal this year was to travel more locally around my area. While Utah is not necessarily close to California, it's still a closer than other destinations. Part of my central west trip included visiting Zion National Park in Utah. Below is a quick video of my visit to Zion National Park.

Tips for Visiting Zion National Park

I traveled to Zion during the summer when the weather was the warmest in the Park. During my visit, it was extremely hot. I've read that the weather in Zion can vary widely greatly depending on what time of the year you visit. My recommendation is to bring:

  • A Hat and Sunglasses
  • Insulated Water Bottle
  • Dress for the Weather

Conclusion:

I spent half a day exploring Zion Park. The park itself is big so I wasn't to able to see all the trails. However, I do plan on visiting again during the cooler months to explore some areas that I did not get to see.

The 2018 San Francisco Auto Show

December 5, 2018

I'm an avid fan of automotive shows. Previously, I wrote about attending the 2017 San Francisco Auto Show last year. Normally, I go to the auto show and take photos of the event. This year, I wanted to focus on doing more video work instead. Hence, below is my recap of the 2018 San Francisco Auto Show.https://youtu.be/LN2OXkXJxYI

Price & Length

Access to the San Francisco Auto Show cost $10. The price of admission will last the entire day of the event. This year, the auto show was scheduled for Nov. 21 thru Nov. 25th.

  • Nov. 21 – Nov. 24: 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
  • Nov. 25: 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

What to Expect:

[gallery ids="3850,3851,3852"]In addition to consumer cars, I noticed this year was the number of exotic cars on display. Normally the high-end manufacturers are displayed in a separate hall. However, this year brands such as Lamborgini, Ferrari, and Porsche were featured in the main halls.

Summary: The 2018 San Francisco Auto Show

In conclusion, it was another great auto show this year. While there is currently construction being done to the outside of the Moscone Center, the show seems like it was unaffected. Aside from the auto show, creativity I will be experimenting with more video in the coming months. I can't wait to share more of the projects and my journey with them.

Sony FE 24-105mm F4 Review

December 4, 2018

[sc name="affiliate disclosure"]Every camera manufacturer usually has a lens that falls in the 24mm to 105mm range that has an F4 Aperture (Nikon has a 24-120mm version). As I am new to the Sony system I decided to rent Sony's version of their 24-105mm F4 lens. Below is my Sony FE 24-105mm F4 Review.

Sample Photos:

[gallery ids="3960,3961,3962"]

Who this Product is For:

The Sony FE 24-105mm F4 is primarily for creatives who want a wide range in their lens. It's a great choice for events, travel, and wedding shooters. The 24-105mm is made for full-frame cameras but will also work on APS-C cameras. On an APS-C camera like an a6300 or a6500, the focal range will be 36-157mm.

Price:

At the time of this writing the Sony FE 24-105mm F4 lens cost $1298.00.

What You Get

Here are a few of the features that you will get with the Sony FE 24-105mm F4 lens:

  • Constant F4 Aperature
  • Image Stabilization
  • Weather Sealed

One thing I love that Sony has included in their new lenses like the 24-105mm is an AF/MF button. Canon and Nikon has this on their lenses but it took Sony some time to implement this feature. This is extremely helpful if you want to quickly switch to Autofocus or Manual mode. Very helpful if you're shooting video.

What You Won’t Get

I think one of the only negatives I found for the 24-105mm was the priced. Compared to its competitors the lens ranks as the most expensive of the bunch. The Canon and Nikon versions are 16-17% less than the Sony versions. Also, as the Canon and Nikon lenses have been out on the market for some time, they may be even cheaper on the used market.

Summary: Sony FE 24-105mm F4 Review

In conclusion, I was impressed by the quality and build of Sony's 24-105mm F4 lens. However, I think because of its high price compared to other competitors such as Nikon, and Canon, it may turn people off to buying the lens. Especially as third-party companies such as Tamron and Sigma are creating lenses for the Sony FE Mount. However, when you are using lenses that were specifically designed for that camera body, the functionality will work more accurately between the lens and body.
