I made it a habit of creating goals for myself. Both personally and professional goals to achieve each year. Last year, I focus mainly on trying to write more. I did this mainly by writing two blog posts a week. My goals for 2019 are:
- Document My Projects & Process
- Feature More Video Related Content
- Network with Fellow Creatives & Small Businesses
Why I Choose These Goals
My reason for choosing goals are usually related to things I could use more improvement in. For projects, I usually focus on the finished copy. But, similar to creating wireframes for web development, there is an interesting perspective into seeing what went into the process.
Feature More Video Related Content
In regards to video content, last year I devoted an entire month to creating video content. Even though I'm more comfortable with video now, I feel like I barely scratched the surface. For implementation, I plan on visiting the older blog posts and creating a video for some of the entries.
Network with Fellow Creatives & Small Businesses
Freelancing can be an isolating life. You often miss the chance to have other people critique and offer feedback for your work. Networking and collaborating with others present a great opportunity to learn from new perspectives.
